An urgent appeal from An-Nisa’s Founder & President, Bibi Khan:

As Salamu Alaykum dear community,

I want to bring an urgent issue to your attention. Many may not be aware that refugee agencies have lost their funding, forcing them to lay off staff and eliminate critical financial assistance for newly arrived families who have entered the country legally on refugee status and are awaiting their official documents, such as Social Security cards and work permits.

Previously, these agencies provided rent assistance and covered essential expenses for the first six months while families awaited their legal documentation. However, due to the funding freeze, many of these families now have no means to pay rent or bills. Several families have already received eviction warnings for this month, and many more are at risk of homelessness.

I am requesting that you join our Fam4Fam program. This initiative may be the only way to keep these families in their homes and prevent a humanitarian crisis, in sha Allah. Whether as an individual or a group, you can help cover rent and essential bills for these families who have legally sought safety and stability in our community.
