Our Services

  • Domestic Violence Case Management

Our trained case managers specialize in providing the necessary assistance and guidance for victims of domestic violence.

This team collaborates with our clients to provide comprehensive services to achieve safety, stability, and self-sufficiency. Our case managers perform a complete assessment of the client and their situation in order to ensure they have everything they need to be safe and protected when leaving an abusive situation.

An-Nisa’s case management services are available to women and men in family violence situations.

  • Domestic Violence Prevention & Education

An-Nisa is taking a deeper dive into preventing, educating, and increasing awareness in our communities. Our goal is to reduce domestic violence and prevent it from entering our homes. We are working on engaging the community including men, women, and our youth on what abuse is. Other topics of education include what healthy relationships look like and how to work as a community to build healthier families.

We have begun programs such as the Engaging Brothers’ and Women’s Support education, which teach community members how to recognize signs of abuse and the steps to take following it.

  • Advocacy & Outreach

An-Nisa will be advocating for causes such as domestic violence, child abuse, elderly abuse, and mental illness. This team works to be ambassadors of change for public health issues in our communities.

Our outreach program is working on building lasting relationships with organizations with similar missions and visions.

We are working to influence policies and legislation that pertain to domestic violence, mental health, and families.

  • Mental Health Care

An-Nisa’s Mental Health team uses a trauma-informed approach. Trauma-informed care is an approach to therapy that asks “What happened to you?” rather than “What is wrong with you?” This shifts the tone from victim-blaming to recognizing the person as a survivor.

Trauma-informed care is a set of guiding principles that recognize trauma has significant effects on people and is often not recognized.

Mental Health services include: Depression, Anxiety, Trauma/PTSD, Relationship Issues, Domestic Violence Support Groups, Self-Esteem, Marital & Premarital, Divorce, Social Anxiety, Support Groups, & More.

  • Mental Health Education

Our mental health team is working towards educating our community on what the word trauma means and how to seek proper treatment for it. Other topics of mental health education include thriving relationships, treating depression and anxiety, and learning how to overcome trauma, rather than living with it.

Mental health education will be released through videos, articles, social media posts, and in-person workshops.

  • Financial Case Management

Among many services that An-Nisa offers towards getting our clients to self-sufficiency, short-term financial assistance is one of the most crucial. After the intake process, each case manager assists the client in carefully assessing their financial needs and creating a plan that will get them to meet their goals as quickly as possible.

  • Mawakhat

Mawakhat means brotherhood/sisterhood. It is based on the project of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) who connected one refugee family with one Ansaar (supporter) family.

Mawakhat sponsors have contributed financial assistance payments to help assist families with rent, utilities, medical needs, job assistance, and so much more. Their mission is to create a larger platform to assist community members that are in need.

  • Community Fulfillment

Community Fulfillment was launched to cater to the urgent needs of our community. This branch works on community-wide donation drives, Ramadan programs, and emergency response.

Refugee assistance is among the most vital services that Community Fulfillment offers. This branch has served almost 3,000 refugees since August 2021 through settlement, job training/fairs, fulfilling their essential needs, and ensuring they have all the skills needed to be self-sufficient.

  • General Education

An-Nisa’s general education department works to ensure that individuals seeking self-sufficiency have the necessary training and education needed to meet their goals.

We offer ESL Class referrals, seasonal in-house computer classes, and career coaching for our clients who may need it for work goals, academic needs, and/or personal fulfillment.

  • Legal Referrals

An-Nisa has a legal referral system that can assist in immigration and other legal needs.

An Nisa's legal department assists An Nisa clients with the following: drafting and reviewing legal documents, drafting demand letters, negotiating with opposing counsel and opposing parties, conducting settlements on behalf of clients, drafting settlement agreements, drafting and reviewing immigration documents, assisting clients with the court process.

  • An-Nisa Youth

This program’s purpose is to foster a safe space with open communication and allow the youth to grow through genuine authentic relationships. An-Nisa Youth hosts a number of events including volunteering, career coaching, in-person and virtual talks, and other activities all for the youth.

This program is intended for everyone between the ages of 13-25.

  • An-Nisa Tutoring & Quran Academy

The An-Nisa Tutoring Academy is a free K-12 online tutoring service and resource, dedicated to teaching students in low-income and marginalized communities. The Academy was founded in March 2020 as a result of COVID-19 in order to ensure these students did not fall behind in their studies due to school closures and online schooling.

Our new online Quran and Islamic Studies program serves a total of 63 students who are taught by Nooraniah-certified teachers. The program consists of a dedicated Quran teacher along with 16 volunteers who serve as teaching assistants.

  • Helpline

Our helpline operates 7 days a week. This team is usually the first point of contact between an individual who is in need of assistance and the An-Nisa branch that they need to be redirected to. Our helpline operators are trained on how to handle any situation that may be on the opposite side of the line, including those that may need 911. Our helpline number is 832-324-9111.

  • iBelong Mentorship

iBelong is a youth mentorship program that matches youth or mentors with young professional mentees. This program provides youth (10+), who have been victims of family violence, with mentors (21+) who can develop a strong bond with their mentees, while providing support, guidance, and opportunities to help them succeed.

Mentors and mentees meet once every quarter.
